« on: September 11, 2010, 04:05:37 AM »
..AutoZone part#7669..

..so i've been re-jetting for this 55-60 degree morning temps..

..went up to a 102 main jet, and will probly need a 103 by winter...

..i've got the local autozone stocking ngk cr8hsa plugs now..lol..

..i bought me a cpl of those for plug chops, and ordered me an iridium plug too...

                                       $10.00 !!!!!!

..the iridium starts on touch and does seem to make the engine run different...smoother??...

..more tests tomorrow...

peace

Well I went with the Denso iridium IUF 22 in lieu of the NGK, but I do notice the scoot starts instantly in the morning since switching.  Should be helpful come winter where I gauge the temperature by how many times I have to crank the starter to get it going - cold day with temps in the low 20s equals 3 cranks, really cold day with temps in the teens or lower equals kick start!

Can't say I've noticed any difference in the sound, but I'm pretty much tone deaf anyway.  Cut my music career tragically short...

..it ran well this morning, a bit slower than last night, but in a head wind..

..however, i wish i had chopped this plug at wot...

..damned if it didn't feel lean at @ 58 degrees this mornin'..

..the chops on the c8hsa plugs llast night looked spot-on...with a 102 jet..

..rained all the 17 miles home this afternoon, sssso...

..tomorrow is another day, as i can't tune on wet roads..

The easy starting is worth it alone for me.  Slightly better throttle response for me.

Interesting that it didn't have more of an effect on your highly modified scoot.

True - if you get going any faster you'll start getting younger as you go!

Let's hope not.

...but if you did it would be with a smile on your face...
