With Hondas....Helix was last scooter you could change belt without taking a clutch/pulley off  (Reflex= no and of course SilverWing No==equals not handy, I had 2  new SilverWing for more than 90,000 miles)  Helix  great, belt could come off/on just by squeezing rear clutch=good design in my book....had 4 new ones, total of 175,000 miles.

For my new XTown 300i I have no idea if pulleys/clutch has to come off.....think I will look in shop manual.

Something I have learned from over 400,000 rubber band drive scooters----always change belts at makers recommended miles, replace with OEM belt.I always  carry spare belt as dealers do no usually have them in stock.   To me walking sucks and delays can get expensive.  My record, just one broken belt in over 400,000 miles---Helix in VA, belt was near end of service life, I had spare.

Note: on SilverWings they are now old and with many of them, who knows their Maint.. history?

probably a good video....but the constant shaking of the camera made me nauseous looking at it! Couldn't get through more than a few minutes.  More power to him for getting that done on the side of the road!

I did my Like 200 belt at the side of the road, on the way to Ireland last year. It went ping on day 4 on the Cornish coast, so the setting was good (that's where I grew up, so nice reminder) and it was about 20 minutes from ping to carrying on.

I have one of those variator removal tools with the two pins of adjustable width and a 17mm 6-point spanner, which was enough to just pop the variator off, remove the remnants of the belt, install the new one by pinching the clutch in at the rear, popping it back on and carrying on.

The longest part of these changes is usually changing the belt cover!

I look the belt cover off my 18 year old Honda yesterday. The belt in there appears to be the original. No cracks, no perishing, nothing... but I've ordered a spare just in case :)
