Piaggio says it was not for me !

Piaggio marketing guys said the IBIS Red "S" model of the new 2018 LIBERTY 3V is for the younger, sporty rider....like this youngster...


The more mature rider is to select from less stimulating colors of the standard, non-S models, like this fellow did...




There are 4 small differences in the livery....
But I wanted the IBIS Red "S" model, with less black - and more silver.
So, I did this. Got my IBIS and the chrome, too!




All are original Piaggio parts.
Sort of...


So, old guy gets red scooter and some chrome!

  no medley here , piaggio 3 wheelers,   350i BV  sports,   and lots of vespas, 300i.   I seen 4 libertys,  very sharp looking,  with a beautyfull grand-child on it out of this world ,.

Stig, I always loved, when I lived in Rome, The AGIP symbol....The six-legged fire breathing dog....

I am curious, How is Piaggio on getting replacement parts and filters? When I was living in Rome, my mechanic at the Porta Portese complained about parts issues.

Also Stig if you get to Rome, go to the Porta Portese, its a scooter's tuners heaven. So many dealers of aftermarket parts and mechanics. I used to get my scooters tuned up there. Go luck with your new scoot!

How is Piaggio on getting replacement parts and filters?

Piaggio is a nightmare for parts, some Piaggio brands like Derbi are discontinued with no parts availability, others are discontinued as antiques.  Piaggio is NO help on this topic. Buyer beware!  Just one reason I switched to Kymco.  Everything is available and dealers are helpful.

From what I gather they've been working on that to good effect.
I'd defer to actual Piaggio forums for what the real state on that is.

I've only had to order a couple things, & used racingplanetusa.com who batches stuff from Europe to here so didn't have any issues.

I am stunned that a well established company could be WORSE than Kymco about parts! Nice looking bikes!

AF1 Racing (Texas) has a good selection of the necessary & consumable parts (filters, pads, screens, etc.) for the brand new 2018 Liberty 150. I checked parts avail. AND home servicing issues before purchasing the scooter.
Glowing reviews from justgotta scoot and Robot, plus the 900,000 previous model count of big wheelers from Piaggio - played a part in my decision. That the price was hundreds less than I expected and it had ABS. Wasn't going to buy any scooter that did not have ABS somewhere on the scoot.

The first valve check was a pistol - but the second will be much easier since I won't be spinning my wheels coming at things from the wrong direction! ('bout like it is for the Stig every time he heads into the unknown on a scooter! However, my son and I successfully completed the sprockets and chain change on his R-6 last night with no screw-ups. We were both fairly stumping amazed at our first-time motorcycle mechanical skills!!)
I've laid in a stock of these parts - and until she blows up - I'm riding this little beauty with a huge grin on my mug.
Will post here if she does a Mussolini on me.
