We will only get around 90% here in the Memphis area. Hummm, maybe dark enough to grab a few winks. Some folks over here are going nuts over this. Special sun glasses and tee shirts are selling like hotcakes. It is kinda special I reckon.

I live in total darkness everyday working on people's foundations. Maybe I'll come out of the hole tomorrow and see another kind of darkness. Think I'll need me headlamp?

I read that unless you are within the 60 mile path of totality you don't get the dramatic effect, that even 99% coverage of the sun ain't gonna knock your socks off: it takes total coverage to make it memorable, with temp. dropping 20 degrees, birds stop flying, dogs howling, etc. Problem is, everyone is now parked on the roads to those spots, creating the biggest traffic jam ever...

WoooHooo! Just AMAZING, totality here in western Oregon was just as advertised. Watched the Moon advance through my Ruskie reflecting telescope until the moment that I could watch without filters. The corona is a beautiful sight. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My old Burgman was out there in the total eclipse in Oregon.
The truckers got it there in time for its new owner to get to a camp ground for the event.

I got a rock.

Is that the same as wood?

I know an eclipse is exciting....but that's taking it too far.

Thanks Stuo, but as my old mum would say...'For God's sake, don't encourage him'
