Good video camera?
« on: March 31, 2017, 12:31:31 PM »
Looking into buying a video camera to mount for scooter riding, vacations, etc. (not over the road utubing)
Gopro alternatives, with decent image & sound recording.

Any input is welcome before I  start serious shopping.
Thanks,

I've been happy with my Drift Ghost S, but there are a number of models the company makes. I find the Drift is better for helmet mounts, unless you want a chin mount angle. The lens can rotate for numerous camera angles too. You can also get an accessory kit that comes with a number of mounts, and a external mic is available that's also a good quality.

This is what I got, but from Amazon. The price was cheaper and well worth it.

I'm considering the new 4K model, or to get a new mic, and a new suction cup mount.

I bought a Kitvision Escape HD5 from our local supermarket when it was on offer from our local supermarket last year @ £25 ($20-ish?)

I came with all the mountings etc. You need to put it into the water proof case to use the mountings and that means the sound is a bit muffled. Footage quality is alright though, but it was that price that attracted me as I have a helluva habit of breaking these things.

I thought someone had posted this one before but it's gone. SJCAM SJ4000 Action Camera seems great deal.

MJR, that camera hard to beat! 50 bucks! GoPro was the first but this is DO-ABLE for ordinary folks. Saw some 50 dollar possibles at Wally World the other day....
