Losing confidence.
« on: May 20, 2016, 05:39:05 AM »
As some of you have already read, my scooter put me down tonight AGAIN 20 miles from home. Roadside assistance brought it home. But my confidence is shattered. I was planning on taking a 120-150 mile road trip later this summer. But now, I don't know. What else can go wrong and leave me stranded away from home?

Just frustrated. Hope it's just a run of bad luck. I had zero Problems this winter. Even though I drove anytime morning temps were above 45deg. F. Now that I have COMFORTABLE riding weather, the darn thing wants to keep breaking down!

Will check thoroughly to make certain. But I suspect it's the stator.

Feeling down and frustrated. 12000 miles, and the stator may be bad.

You should have a rectifier/regulator also somewhere. I would check or replace that as well. Let's say your working the bugs out and this is the last one. I feel your pain as my brand new bike is still in service being fixed.

If it's electrical it can be a PITA. Hopefully you'll sort it all at soon and have the scooter debugged for your road trip.

Ordered a new stator from my dealer on Monday. It arrived Thursday. I didn't realize that had to remove right engine cover. Tried to get by with the old gasket. IT LEAKED LIKE A SEEVE ! Bought some gasket material and made a new gasket. The charging system works. And it's not leaking oil. Now I have an exhaust leak at the head. I hope I can find an exhaust gasket today. I'm READY TO RIDE AGAIN,!
