..blown air induction 2.0..
« on: April 23, 2010, 03:01:16 PM »
..this crap works!!..super quick and faster top speed!!!

..however...and it's a BIG however too.....

..my design is not sustainable..it requires too much maintenance..cleaning..the 3/4" brass muffler i used as an inline filter clogged too easily..which caused me to run around in circles swapping out jets trying to chase the rich condition away...I need to filter, without restricting, the air into the cooling fan, or into the induction tube..

..any ideas my brothers???

..now, if you wanna impress your girl with just how fast your 4t will run, and get y' some, then go ahead!!..but change it back the next day... :-\

..so I'm back to my old half worn out K&N and a 101 main jet and i'm still hittin' 90 kmh..(from 95) but that's okay for now..

..cause i just ordered me that 20 mm carb and a new filter too...I figure that the added volume of the 20mm will closely resemble the results that i got with the blown air, while being more controllable, and ultimately sustainable...

peace

Your air induction seemed to work quite well, maybe you could use an inline filter that you could locate for easy access so it could be cleaned regularly, say, weekly or every time you wash your scoot.

What I figured was a "POP" bottle fitted over the air filter itself. Easy to trim, and using the filter for what it does. Filtering the incoming air would be impracticable. Filtering the air thru the intake filter is the key. Run your duct to a "snap on cover" that fits the filter.

For 2mm it should be ok. If the rubber is hardened you might try hot water to soften it up.

Then I think the intake will flow just fine. The only reason I changed mine was I bought a clamp on 28mm carb that HAS to have a specific intake. If I used a boot mounted carb I would have used the stock intake.

...cool...im anxious to get it and see what she'll do....

..im always tempted to go the 72 kit route, but i'm just so impressed my stock engine....

..i got one of the good ones for sure...

..then there's the fact that i don't really have a lot of downtime available either...
