One reason to ride a scooter

I love a lot of motorcycles - but, here's my son during our outing yesterday, looking at his underseat storage....on a non-scooter.
Sure, some younger fellows buy scooters - but....

No, Honda has thought this through. The tank is sloped to ramp you over the bars and the deer.
(his bike has the best 2 wheeled seat I've ever sat on...and it is nice for the passenger ad well. But there are many hump-free scooter seats I've yet to sit on. I take that  back....the two best seats were on the Vino and the Metropolitan scoots!!!

We call them Crotch Rockets. Designed to cause sufficient brain mush, on impact, after going over handlebars. That's why the Head First position.

Easy there fellows -- there are a lot of scooter owners who hate the stock seat on their scooter!
This bike seat is nearly 12" wide - and is long....and well shaped for the comfort of both riders. The rear area reminds me of the big maxi scoots. (while the operator freq. has a lousy situation on a lot of maxis because of the stupid 'back rest')

Perhaps, but n o t   on this bike.
The CB500X has full width & adjustable handle bars,  foot peg & seat position, which presents the rider in a position that is  every bit as upright as your scooter. Assuming you can adjust your bars??
So, do not assume that every bike is so uncomfortable or so dangerous (see insurance actuaries for 'clip-on' bars)  to ride as those lay-down bikes which some ride.

Motorcycles and scooters each have their advantages.  Which one is better depends on what you want to do with it.  Few motorcycles have any built in storage these days but that can usually be fixed with aftermarket luggage.  I have 2 scooters as well as 2 motorcycles.  For around town practicality and fun, it's hard to beat a scooter.

Never understood some scooterist's dislike of motorcycles.
I like most all of them.
(tho - on the bike forums most don't care for scooters. So, I don't pay that kind of thinking any mind.)

There is some prejudice that goes both ways.  However, there are also quite a few of us that own both motorcycles and scooters and enjoy both.

I love motorcycles and scooters alike, i think the fact that a lot of "bikers" look down on scooters so it gives scooterists the kind of "F you" mentality towards motorcycles. From my experience most cross-vehicle interaction has been good and most motorcyclist wave back when I'm on a scooter. Scooters for the win in a dense city though!
