Guys, the black plastic fairing parts have become white in time (sunlight, gas etc.).
Is there a magic trick to turn them black again? I tried the wax-based stuff but doen't work.

I would have looked at Armor All or 300 Protectant ( after cleaning with a plastics de-oxidizer ) .

I bought a Red 500ri in March 2010. It is now silver and pink on the right side from sitting on the side stand. I tend to think the only think that will work for --my-- scoot will be to either order new plastic and/or paint the plastic I have now. If I had any storage at my home (I live in a very small condo) I would do both.

There is no magic bullet. Trust me we've tried everything over the years. Your can't even paint the black plastic. Replace or get used to it.

They make some stuff called "Back To Black" - used yrs ago on my VW's and worked pretty good on all the black plastic trim.
But, if there is an actual deep bleacing of the black plastic....spray painting might be the only option to get it all the way back to black.

300 Protectant is the best prevention I have found. Key is: PREVENTION , unfortunately .

I used a Turtle Wax product "Vinyl Restorer" on the sun bleached black plastic on my Yager 200i and it made like new! Worth a try at <8 bucks at Wal-Mart.

Paint is the best solution is you get the fancy paint the sticks to plastic.  I used back to black on jeep fenders, but it wore off to fast.

Hey all!  I've had some pretty good success with this stuff.

It seems everytime I gas up, a little gets spilled on the plastics.  Premium really takes the black out of black plastic.  I believe you can get it at walmart or any auto parts supply store.
