« on: November 29, 2014, 02:28:00 PM »
Hi everybody i m From italy and i m sorry for my English  ;D

I bough a used kymco agility city 50 2008, i changed the drive boss and main jet, i cut the wire in The cdi, i also tryed to cut the cdi but i still going only 45 km/h, and when it reaches the top speed if i release a bit The power he Goes a little more, in my opinion is a cdi problem what do you think? The scooter run 22000km with restrictions, maybe is that the problem?

Thank You!!!

Also try lowering or bring the needle up in the carb.

Agreed to both responses. The jetting is wrong, and the needle Might fix that. Rollers will help all around.

up: I've just tryed to cut more the cdi, I'm sure that I cut the wire inside that, now the scooter reach 55 km/h and downhill I don't feel any restriction, but there's another problem, it seems that have only one gear, from 0 to 40km/h it goes at very low rpm, and from 40 to 55 it goes better, could you tell me why? before cutting it goes always at high rpm and the accelleration was better, why? Thanks again

The CDI should not/could not change the low end gearing.

You simply never noticed before how bad it was.

To fix that install a new Control spring in the rear pulleys. Malossi Red spring if you are close to 200lbs, and Malossi Purple if you are closer to 150lbs.
This will keep the bike in a lower "gear" longer, and give you better take off.

Yes the after market CDI's do give you better performance. I have compared them side by side, and the gain is worth it.
Here's on I found for 7 bucks...  or thirty billion lire! http://www.ebay.com/itm/GY6-DC-CDI-BOX-50cc-150cc-250cc-MOPED-SCOOTER-ATV-4-2-PINS-CHINESE-/121441208299?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c4675c7eb&vxp=mtr

Thank You guys for replyes, zombie i think you're right but before cutting the cdi take off and changing gears was good maybe i have only to change cdi? The one you posted is different from my cdi, i have 5 pin not 4+2, and yes the price is great but from china to italy is 40 days shipping, not very good  :(

What do you think about this variator? How much more speed will i take?

That Var is junk. The rollers are worse.

I've torn thru them in a few hundred miles. Spend about a hundred bucks, and get a Malossi/Polini/ or a Jasil top racing.
Any of those will last several thousand miles. Same for the rollers. Get any of those three brands.

Look on the bottom left side of your engine case. There will be a stamped in part number It will say either qmb 139 or

Cool beans.
I had to run mid sentence before. I was asking about the engine ID cause you should have the DC cdi. I just saw you have an '08 so the CDI should get cut. The issue (i think) is you cut from the wrong side. You should cut from the epoxy side at a 45 degree angle just until the blade hits the bottom case. 99% of the time that is as far as you need to go. It is possible you cut into the circuit board. I don't know.

I also thought you had the 2013 bike till I looked again... Double check the engine ID so we are positive what you have. There have been several bikes of that vintage that showed up here w/ replacement engines, and that will be the QMB engine, and NOT the Kymco S series. Double check...

hi zombie i'm sorry but i didn't understand well your previous message, i've already bough a new cdi, today i tryed it, it goes a bit better, but it goes at 50 kmh (2 on the bike) after maybe 20 minutes with engine on, i think is too much also in winter, or not? here in venice we have 10° celsius, not so cool...

Anyway, i tryed to disassembly (is right disassembly? or dismount?  ;D ) the variator, I'm posting some pictures of that, maybe i got wrong when i change rollers and belt

First problem: after disassembly the carter this piece has fallen, do you know what is? I didn't see from where it fell

https://www.dropbox.com/s/uucspsuds9crgjn/20141203_121926.jpg?dl=0

Next step, i see this all mounted

https://www.dropbox.com/s/z4by6bf7axfhwrd/20141203_121918.jpg?dl=0

this the situation after removing first part of variator

https://www.dropbox.com/s/02vvctsj4an01c9/20141203_122058.jpg?dl=0

it it right the belt over the drive boss? and is mounted on the correct side? with "teeth" against the drive boss?

This the variator open, are the rollers mounted well?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sp7dmrywtve1ml6/20141203_122224.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/h670ag7sv8nxlys/20141203_122234.jpg?dl=0

this is the belt with the serial number, is correct for my scooter?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/hpkfzbdp1be9pp5/20141203_122131.jpg?dl=0

finally, the rollers are 13x16x6.5g, if i go alone the accelleration is obviously better but really not so much, it was better before changing rollers, but i ask the seller the original rollers, i don't understand why i have this big difference, I hope that I did something wrong  :'( :'(

Thank you again zombie!!
