INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Scooter enthusiasts from across the county, and around the world, will be racing to Indianapolis for the largest gathering of scooters in the country.
Members of Indy SC submitted a proposal to host
Amerivespa to VCOA in April, with The Indianapolis Motor Speedway being a big selling point in their bid. Participants will bring their scooters from cities and towns across the country for an opportunity to ride around the world-famous track.
“We are really excited to show off Indianapolis,†says Chris Sublett, president of Indy SC. “Indy has a strong scooter culture and we’ve been working really hard to plan an event that will show off the best off our city.â€
“A ride around the Indy 500 Track is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,†says Jac Carolan, president of VCOA. “Indy SC’s passion for riding and raising scooter awareness was also very evident in their proposal.â€
Averivespa will be in Indianapolis June 11-14, 2015. In addition to riding on the track, activities will include organized tours of the city, a vendor marketplace, evening hangouts, and a formal banquet.
Most recently,
Amerivespa has been held in New Orleans, San Diego, and Lake Geneva. Details, as well as registration, can be found at
www.amerivespa.org as they become available.
