Part of my Muffler fell off--HELP!!!!
« on: October 22, 2014, 03:22:04 PM »
Hello guys,

so part of my muffler (see picture) fell off recently. I heard this strange metallic sound-and I noticed that on eof the bolts was gone . I tried using a bolt I had in my tool box that fit-and thought everything was great---rode off to the AIME expo in Orlando--came back home, and noticed that the whole part fell off somewhere on the highway!

Anyone know where I can get this part and the hardware to secure it?

It is common for this shield to work loose.
Expansion and contraction from heat make the nuts loosen.
I lost mine when my bike was new. I checked with dealer for a replacement.
Cost was $40. , but that was a year ago.
The shield is for cosmetic purposes only.
I used high temp grill paint on my exhaust in that area. Might replace it sometime.

New scoot owners are advised to put Red LocTite on the nuts to keep this from happening.
