What tools do you carry
« on: May 08, 2014, 11:12:14 AM »
Besides the tiny tool pouch, what equipment or tools do you pack for a ride of say 50 miles. I need a good carrying bag/box for the back; $30 budget any recommendations here in the states.

Thanks

On the tools, just look at every nut and bolt that you might need to remove to do an emergency repair, or re-tighten if it comes loose, and make sure you got it with you.

As far as a cheap bag, I just use a waterproof backpack from Walmart, and set it on the floorboard with the top handle hooked on the bag hook. About as simple as you can get, but it works!  The rear rack on a Super 8 is mostly for looks. It's a royal pain to tie anything to it without it shifting around on you.

I may just pop in a 10mm 1/4 drive + extension to the kit. Noticed my rear turn signal was lose on my last ride.

Yeah, 10mm, 8mm sockets and something to turn 'em with, maybe a couple of combination wrenches to match, tube of Loctite red or blue. A 50 mile ride is really pretty short unless you are on a 50cc then it may warrant a 1-gallon gas can strapped down somewhere to MAKE SURE you can get the the next fuel station. Really, on any Kymco, all you gotta worry about is the heat shields on the exhaust working loose. That is covered by the 8 & 10mm sockets and Loctite. Do that before you leave and then all you gotta bring is the gas can.
