how many Xciting miles have you ridden?
« on: January 02, 2014, 09:00:36 PM »
hey guys. im sure a thread similar may have been done before but here goes anyway.
im curious how many miles people have on there Xcitings, 250 or 500cc and who has the most?
if you have high mileage, have you run into any issues or big maitinance/replacement costs?
what the most miles you have put on it in a year?
i'll start

i ride a 2012 Xciting 500RI ABS
had it for 8-9 months
just under 12,000 miles so far :)  (work commuter)
regular maintinance and replaced the rear tire so far (knock on wood) ;)
love this bike.

hows your treating you?

I've only owned my 500 since Feb of last year, before that I rode a Yamaha and a Suzuki Burgman.   I think the Kymco is the best of the bunch honestly.

Since Feb I put about 13,000 miles on her (20,921 KM).  In the coming year I'm hoping to put about 15,000 miles (or 24,140 KM) on her.

Not really. I did have some belt issues, but that was due to using after market parts, (malossi & Doctor pulley). I still have the stock clutch etc on the bike. Keep it stock. :-*

Oh ok, yeah im big on keeping it stock atleast engine and trans wise. Things tend to break and wear faster when modified, same with cars. The only thing I have considered is a slip-on exhaust. Just for some more sound. I like reliability and I bought the extended 5year warranty also. Piece of mind knowing if i keep it stock and something goes crazy, its covered :)

7k miles on my 2013, from mid-May to when the cold temps finally forced me to put her to bed for the winter. No issues or mechanical problems. Watching the road conditions deteriorate over the winter and seeing the route on my daily commute develop potholes faster than a teenager grows zits makes me think the early spring rides are going to be a little interesting

My first one was an '07 that had 37,475 miles when I sold it. My '09 has only 24,650 now. Would have had more but I did have to work some.

And I agree with the stock vs mod thing. Had Dr. Pulley slider on my '07. Ran great until the drive train was destroyed.

Yeeessss, speaking from experience. My excursion with Dr. P cost over $1800 to correct. Rebuilt entire drive train.

Dr P can ruin your day all-right. Also, their sliding rollers are bad enough, but I have also heard of people using after market clutch's? Why pay $3-400 for a clutch where their springs often break, and self destruct. Why pay 10 times as much for a clutch that will get u from 0 to 60 about a half second faster then stock? And they don't last as long. I have almost 50k (miles), on my 2007, with the stock clutch. Allot of the miles are 2 up, long touring days, mountains ect. STAY STOCK & RIDE. :-*

Hey Sissy Mary, didn't you install Malossi Multivar in your Xciting? How's that working for you?
