Looking to upgrade from my A50 to A125. I have some questions.
« on: November 07, 2013, 11:12:08 PM »
So I love my Agility 50. I have had fun tuning it and all to get the most out of it that I can. Top speed is about 45mph and i get 100mpg every fill up. However I would really like to be able to ride on 55mph roads.

What have you guys found to be your top speed on your A125? And what do you guys find as an easy high speed to cruise at on your A125? (Specify speedo or GPS please!)
What do you guys usually get for mpg?
Has anyone found that a windshield  has helped improve either?
And what easy mods have you guys done to make your A125 perform better?

Any input would help. If you read this and have an A125 please just reply with anything. Don't ignore it and move on. I doesn't take long to reply and it will be helpful.

Thanks! :D

If I wanted to ride on 55mph posted roads, I'd get a 250cc bike.

I purchased a Kymco Agility 125 last December and it is a good bike. For me, I have had up to 60mph with no problems. I know it can do 65=70mph with no problems. I recently put a top case on it for more storage. When I was using fuelly.com to record gas mileage I was averaging 75-81mpg which is damn good. Even the rains we get in Vegas it has done very well in those elements with no problems. Since I have a 3/4 helmet with a face shield I do not need to purchase a wind shield. At some point I may. These are my thoughts on this great bike. 8)

An Agility 125 willget you to 55-60 mph. That's plenty fast for a 45 mph road. It's probably OK for a country road with a 55 mph speed limit. I wouldn't get on a busy 4 lane 55 mph road with a 125. Actually I would do it for a short diatance if I had to, but I wouldn't buy a 125 intending to ride those roads daily.

At 55mph speeds you want larger wheels than 12".

I don't own a 125 scooter yet, but I've been riding 50cc for 6 years so I know the limitations of one.
Granted they are a lot of fun, but sometimes you need more mph!

You will be able to cruise comfortably on 45-50mph roads. You will be able to jump onto 55mph roads for short lengths to get from point A to point B. Since most cagers are doing 70mph on these road, it's not some place you'll want to spend a lot of time. For that type of riding I agree with a 150-250cc scoot.

As for the Agility 125 which I've strongly considered myself, you can add a top case, windshield, saddle bags, rear basket, etc. Whatever you need to use for your style of riding.

Go for it! Lower cost used ones can be found easily.

Hello,

I just lost my agility 50 due to theft. It is very unfortunate. I am thinking of getting Agility 125, too. Is there a particular year that you recommend? Or are they pretty much the same? Is Agility 125 very similar to Agility 50 except that it is a larger engine?

Thanks!

I have a Yager 200 which is really a 170cc. It will just barely work on the freeway.
I can do 70 mph but it feels small out there. It does get 80 MPG and has a 3 gallon
tank though so I think it's just enough!

I just purchased 2 of them and on the country roads it does fine.  But, 4 lane 55 mph roads, I would keep it to short distances.  Most people are doing 65-70 mph.
