Wonder what happens when you open a lemonade stand

posted on a local community Facebook page
KAREN (substituted to protect the identity of the poster) "here, and I’ve had just about enough of this neighborhood turning into some kind of unlicensed snow-shoveling cartel.
To the parents of the kids marching around with plastic shovels and Venmo accounts, congratulations. You’ve successfully launched the smallest organized crime ring in Belknap County.
I’ve already contacted the police. Yes, the actual police. And the BBB. Yes, the actual BBB. Because apparently nobody else sees a problem with 9-year-olds running a cash business like tiny winter contractors.
They’re out there knocking on doors, quoting prices, collecting money, and walking away like they’ve got QuickBooks waiting at home. No LLC. No permits. No tax ID. Not even a clipboard. Just vibes and a Spider-Man hat.
Let me be clear. This is not “kids helping out.” This is unregulated driveway commerce.
The rest of us have to suffer through paperwork, taxes, and soul-crushing responsibility, but these kids just stroll around making $20 a driveway and calling it a day? Must be nice.
I know for a fact none of this is being reported. Nobody is issuing receipts. Nobody is filing quarterly anything. It’s pure chaos.
So yes, I reported it. And yes, I’ll do it again. Because somebody in this town still believes in law, order, and properly registered snow removal entities.
If you’re going to charge money, do it legally.
Otherwise grab a sled, drink some hot chocolate, and stop undermining the licensed professionals of Laconia.
Unacceptable."

so far, the post only had laughs, about 400 of em

I don't think so, the poster is known for complaining about people not following HomeOwner Association rules

That's hilarious - and frightening - Randy. :)
There are a pair of teen boys across the street - very energetic. They pass a football and run sprint drills in every kind of weather. For hours.
Lately they've asked for my help doing a front brake, and borrowing my jumper cables (3X in the same day! - "boys, drive the truck after getting it started!")
Our relationship (?) started when they were very young - my daughter saw them standing in pouring rain waiting for a school bus - so she took them an umbrella. (I told her afterwards, "honey a 12 yr old boy can get beat up after showing up at school with an umbrella!")

Anyway - last fall they came knocking, "Mr Tom, we'll rake your leaves for $10."
I stepped outside for a chat. "So, explain. After you rake them into a few huge piles - then what?"
"We'll bag them up."
"And then what?"
"We'll take them away."
"Umm. Where? You'll take them away to where?"
"Ummm, across the street."
"Into your dad's yard?"
"Ahh, no over there." Pointing to neighbor's TREELESS yard!

I tried not to laugh. "Men, all three of us will get in trouble if we move my mountain of leaves to a neighbor's yard or your dad's yard. But, thanks anyway for offering!"

Later, I paid a pro-tree co. $200 to remove all the leaves, incl. the gutters.
The rascals didn't show when I needed them for the big snow we had!
They're good kids - just wish they'd stop calling me "sir"! Makes me feel old.....

Be quiet daughter!

I wish those 9 year olds were in my neighborhood, I tried getting the 20 year old unemployed son of my neighbor to come shovel me out after the "blizzard" as I was just home from the hospital,

I don't go on group rides often, but when I do and we encounter a lemonade stand, we always stop
