Technical | How To / oil service indicator light2013

Dumb question of the day - on my 2013 Downtown 300 the " oil service"  light came on at exactly 9000 mi. Is this telling me I am low on oil or just a reminder that the 9000 mi service is due.If a service reminder, does it go away even if I perform the service myself?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks Carter

As always I appreciate your thoughts - I'll be in Friday for the service - it's nice to have someone in your corner who you can rely on. As I mentioned to you earlier I'm off to Canada as soon as I pick the bike up from you and I'll ride easy knowing you've checked it out. Any owners out there needing service and repair? - here's the guy.

Downtown 300 / bike life

How many miles on your DT300? Mostly highway, city? Presuming I service the bike regularly and take good care of it, what can I expect to reach for total miles - approx.

General Discussion / seat cushions

Hi all,

As I was correctly advised when I posted, my Downtown 300 performed beautifully during Saturdays 350 mile ride, but my 73 year old fanny didn't quite fare so well.

Has anyone had any luck with a cushion or some type of pad for a long ride.?

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

HI ALL,

DO YOU SUPPOSE THE 12 VOLT OUTLET PLUG ON MY DT300 WOULD BE SUFFICIENT TO OPERATE A TIRE INFLATOR?

Thanks Windwheeler and de dee. I've read many posts from both of you and I very much appreciate your comments. 1st ride coming up will be through the Clearwater Canyon in Idaho, over the LoLo Pass in Montana, through the Cascade National Park to Canada and back We'll see how the bike (and my fanny) hold up.

Downtown 300 / long trips

I've been riding some sort of a bike now for 65 years but I've grown a little too old and a little too feeble to handle my Harley Road King safely so I sold it and bought a Downtown 300. So far I've thoroughly enjoyed riding this bike. Other than getting tossed around a bit in a strong wind the bike performs very well. I'm used to heading out for a ride of 3 or 4 days at 300 to 400 miles per day and I'm wondering if that's asking too much of the Downtown. I'd appreciate your thoughts and experience.
Thankyou - STAY SAFE!!!
