Xciting 500 / main jet on xciting 500

ive noticed since i bought my xciting that if i ride full throttle the scoot actualy doesnt want to perform and if i close the throttle a little it picks up speed! Well last night i opened the carb to check the main jet and it has a 118 in there! acording to the manual it should be a 108 or even a 98
I am at high altitude so iam going to try a 98
i have noticed that the xciting was also very thirsty and got about 12km per l
I also removed the spark plug and found a NGK CR8EK in there...it has two electrodes jobs?? looked on internet and found no info on that. Replaced it with a CR8E ( The old plug was also carboned black confirming that the scoot was running to rich)

I would stil like to take my xciting on a long trip! I do long distince running and I am looking at all the out of town races for an excuse to use the kymco. I found Roy Chen to be very helpfull as when I bought the scooter I battled to get the reg. papers out of the seller and Roy sorted them out quickly!
Another thing that I changed on my xciting was an extra grill infront the radiator to protect it from stones damaging the fins!

Hi Bryan! you sent me an email and i dont know if the answer came back to you! I am in Edenvale in Gauteng! Love the xciting! dont like the speedo being far out! tested it with a gps and 120km an hour actualy is 138 on the speedo.....but wil prob get used to that! ive also had that speed wobble at full speed.....but then its happened on other bikes aswell!
I have also found that on overtaking the guys want to see wat this monster of a scooter can do and then they excelerate!!

Ive seemd to have solved it by ading a little oil to its absulute max position! I normaly dont fill it to the top as i am scared of over filling ! I can remember years ago there was a Austrin Marina  car here in SA that all gave engine problems because they all had faulty dipsticks which resulted in over filling.
I realy find this sight so interesting and informative! Thanks for all the input.

Thanks for the input! but its the first thing i checked is the oil level! its had its 1st service and its got synthetic oil in now!
Must also say that it does not happen every time ....only the once ore twice that i realy had to apply breaks hard!

Hello. My name is Andre! new to this forum and Kymco xciting 500
I have noticed that if i brake hard the oil light flickers for a few seconds.
I gather that its the oil that moves forward and therefore starving the oil picup of oil??
Is it normal? should i worry? the scooter has 1600km on the clock!
Very happy xcept small things like speedo accuracy etc.
