hey guys. im sure a thread similar may have been done before but here goes anyway.
im curious how many miles people have on there Xcitings, 250 or 500cc and who has the most?
if you have high mileage, have you run into any issues or big maitinance/replacement costs?
what the most miles you have put on it in a year?
i'll start
i ride a 2012 Xciting 500RI ABS
had it for 8-9 months
just under 12,000 miles so far :) (work commuter)
regular maintinance and replaced the rear tire so far (knock on wood) ;)
love this bike.
hows your treating you?
-
At about 48-49,000 miles on my 2007. :-*
-
2007 250 Xciting 5500 miles, 2009 Xc500 ri 10000 miles. More each day.
-
I've only owned my 500 since Feb of last year, before that I rode a Yamaha and a Suzuki Burgman. I think the Kymco is the best of the bunch honestly.
Since Feb I put about 13,000 miles on her (20,921 KM). In the coming year I'm hoping to put about 15,000 miles (or 24,140 KM) on her.

nice, thanks for the replies thus far guys. keep em coming.

wow, thats the most so far. any major repairs needed or just regular maintinance and servicing :)

Not really. I did have some belt issues, but that was due to using after market parts, (malossi & Doctor pulley). I still have the stock clutch etc on the bike. Keep it stock. :-*

Oh ok, yeah im big on keeping it stock atleast engine and trans wise. Things tend to break and wear faster when modified, same with cars. The only thing I have considered is a slip-on exhaust. Just for some more sound. I like reliability and I bought the extended 5year warranty also. Piece of mind knowing if i keep it stock and something goes crazy, its covered :)

I'm close to 29.000 km/18.000 miles 8)

7k miles on my 2013, from mid-May to when the cold temps finally forced me to put her to bed for the winter. No issues or mechanical problems. Watching the road conditions deteriorate over the winter and seeing the route on my daily commute develop potholes faster than a teenager grows zits makes me think the early spring rides are going to be a little interesting

My first one was an '07 that had 37,475 miles when I sold it. My '09 has only 24,650 now. Would have had more but I did have to work some.
And I agree with the stock vs mod thing. Had Dr. Pulley slider on my '07. Ran great until the drive train was destroyed.
-
Yep, the dr p's seem to work great, and then all of a sudden BING, belt is shredded and boss is welded inside inner pulley half? :-*

oh ouch! speaking from experience?
-
Yeeessss, speaking from experience. My excursion with Dr. P cost over $1800 to correct. Rebuilt entire drive train.
-
Dr P can ruin your day all-right. Also, their sliding rollers are bad enough, but I have also heard of people using after market clutch's? Why pay $3-400 for a clutch where their springs often break, and self destruct. Why pay 10 times as much for a clutch that will get u from 0 to 60 about a half second faster then stock? And they don't last as long. I have almost 50k (miles), on my 2007, with the stock clutch. Allot of the miles are 2 up, long touring days, mountains ect. STAY STOCK & RIDE. :-*
-
Hey Sissy Mary, didn't you install Malossi Multivar in your Xciting? How's that working for you?
-
No, I thought about it for a while when I was having problems with the belt issue, but stayed stock. Glad I did. Other forums I have read, (burgman-T max etc). Some people like them and some don't? And it just cost 2 much, also if it breaks down in the middle of know where, how long would it take to get parts? :-*
-
52,000 miles!!!
definitely keep it stock.
Sissy, is your clutch skippin yet? Mine started around 50,000 miles.
I had to replace clutch discs on my TMAX at around 50000 miles. I replaced the ones on the TMAX because, when i would rev it it would rev very high and not go anywhere.
-
No, not yet. I tour most of the time. So I don't have allot of stop & go on the bike. Last April before I moved back to Arizona from Michigan I put a new belt & such on the bike. I had bought a new clutch to put on, but when holding it up next to the old one, there was still quite allot of clutch material left, so I left it alone. Damn that was a cold trip!!!! :-*

My 2012 RI w/abs is two years old this month. I've got about 17000 miles on it.
Everything is stock except the tires. I'm on my second rear set of Michelin City Grips (just changed it out before parking the scoot for the winter).
I moved into a new house this summer and didn't ride the scoot as much as I did the first year. I hope to use it much more in 2014.

2021 update!
how many distance now?

I bought my 500 with 12K miles on it almost 2 years ago. I lost most all of last year from a major heart attack, and it's about to turn 19K miles. I don't travel that far from home these days, so 5K per year would probably cover me.
