Nice. Still waiting on the new jackets.
$$$ burning a hole in the pocket !

AMAC

From gogogearla.com, I have the ventilated cafe jacket in black with silver reflective piping.

I also have the black kevlar hoodie and the black kevlar leggings.

All are AWESOME.  I really like the new leggings but have only worn them once so far.

In cooler to cold weather I wear my packable down jacket under the cafe jacket and I am warm enough and still very comfortable.

I also bought my husband the hoodie.  It's his favorite jacket other than his leather one.

Can you believe it?  Tonight, I saw another bear riding a scooter.   ;D  ;D

Haha, I guess I should say that tonight while riding through Jockey Hollow National Historic Park, a bear ran across the road in front of me.

This time, it was a smaller bear and he just kept running so I didn't get to stop and watch him.

It won't be long before the bears show up in our yard.  :-\

Must be regional.

Home in florida I see maxis on I95 all the time.
At my place in NJ I rarely see another scoot much less a big one.

AMAC

I haven't traveled on the highway yet, but like you, here in NJ, I've seen one other scooter this year.

Beautiful picture you took there.  I'm a little jealous.  :)

Your description sounds a lot like the Downtown.

At first I wanted the Forza because I love Honda products.  It wasn't going to be available for several months so I bought the DT300I and I really do enjoy it.  When I went back to the dealer to finally see the Forza, like you, I thought the seat was way to low.  I never thought about it, but now that I look at your picture, I see that the passthrough for your feet is somewhat higher than the DT300i but I don't think it would be a problem to get your leg over that, however, I know I'd never be able to throw my leg over the top of the seat to get on it and I'm tall. The DTI300i gas gage is like that too.  It doesn't move for the first hundred miles or so, then seems to go quickly.

Have fun with it.  It's a beauty.

When I started looking for a scooter one year ago, I had the Forza in mind.  It's what I wanted.  Then found out that I wouldn't be able to get one for several months, so I bought the Downtown.  I haven't regretted buying it for a minute.

I rarely ever see another scooter on the road and I do hope that the gain in popularity.  I'd like to have someone to ride with once in a while.

They are considered a nuisance here. Fortunately they are protected. One of the City Council members here shot one w/ a bow about two years ago. 90 days served, and 5 years probation. Plus he lost his hunting/fishing Lisc. for life.

If/when they are deemed a "danger" they are trapped in Culvert type traps, and relocated to the National forest.

Within a week , and without fail they ALWAYS return to where they were trapped. It's just another example of revolving door justice.

Bears are protected here too.  However, they do have a bear hunt every year and the folks who built houses in their (the bears') territory put up a stink about the hunt every year.  Go figure.

Bears are a common sight in Northern NJ where they've always been but are having less and less space to roam due to property development.

Funny thing is, I spent a few days in Northern NJ near the Appalachian Trail last week and did not see a bear.  I had to come home to see one.  I wish I'd had time to get a photo.

The bears are wandering further and further away from their natural habitat looking for food.  This bear looked very healthy so he must be finding something to eat in the swamp.  Fish and plants are plentiful there.

I just got back from a ride through the Great Swamp Wildlife Preserve in NJ and while worrying about running deer crossing in front of me, what do I see?

I see a big black bear on the side of the road.  I slowed down and then decided not to stop until I got a little past him in case he tried to make friends with me.  I watched him until he ambled back into the woods.

It's the first bear I've seen in the wild so close to where I live.

Nice ride tonight.  :)

For cool weather riding I bought a Kevlar/Armored Hoodie from GoGo Gear. Love this ... warm and protective and looks like a regular hoodie. Fit is awesome, as well . (Actually. I have two - one is larger so as to wear heavier clothing under for even more warmth/layering) .

They make a number of armored jackets that don't look like your typical 'biker' clothing. Good for people who have to dress professionally for work .

I have the kevlar hoodie from gogo gear also.   I also have the ventilated cafe jacket and I just love it.  It's comfortable, has good air circulation and is really nice looking.

I got my husband a kevlar hoodie as well and he likes it.  When he wears it, it's the only time he's wearing proper protection.

Downtown 300 / Re: New Seat available
« on: June 24, 2014, 10:34:00 PM »
That looks like the stock seat.  The underside looks different, but the actual seat looks the same.

Look a the photo of the seat the Uangalu posted.  It's looks a lot different than the one you posted.

Curious.

I have managed a way to import those Genuine Kymco (European market) seat from Taiwan (Check those photos I posted above)
The final price is not confirmed yet but it should be LESS than $250 includes seat and freight from TW to Calif.
If you are interested, let me know so I can calculate the number and maybe negotiate the price :)

EDIT:
The freight for air shipment is just too expensive (which makes the total amount to almost $240 to bring in the seat to Cali) I will ask the forwarder later to get a quote if shipped by sea, will keep you guys posted.

Thank you.  I'm still interested and will look for your update.

General Discussion / Re: Is your Kymco made in China?
« on: June 04, 2014, 02:17:40 PM »
This whole thread screams ZOMBIE!

The whole car thing is out of control. We ALL KNOW oil is finite. If you want to use it all up faster than the rest of the world it is on you, and you alone. There are alternate ways of getting around, and nice hair doos are NO F"N reason to destroy the planet. Which is what every gas guzzling American is doing. Like it or not.

I'm not going to say another word on this because it makes me friggin nutz to see how people will twist what is happening into legal mumbo jumbo that makes no sense in an attempt to justify their SELFISH BEHAVIOR. Everyone with a heart/soul knows I am right.

Truth be told North Korea will take the heat, and destroy as much of the west (US) as they can. China will be the dominate global power. It is just the way it is. We have no way to stop them UNLESS we develop alternate fuel sources. (wish Axy was here).
There ARE FREE renewable ways to power EVERYTHING.
If the US gets off it's acid tripped out ass, and uses what the Earth has to offer, and gets the F out of global politics we will be fine. Let China boy rule the rest. We have the Americas to worry about.

The people that take the path of least resistance will be the survivors.

You all know I am a major but wad, and I am not going to say one more word on this. It's toooooo easy to hate.
I love you all, and there are just a few that will argue that I am totally wrong. Those few can go on F'ing everything up while I sleep like a baby knowing that I do SOMETHING to help everyone every f'n day of my life.
I wish you all really knew me...

Great post!  The most sensible one from you yet.  And I wish I knew you too (even if you don't like NJ!).  From what I do know about you, you remind me of my son.  :)

He's around.  Here's his latest youtube video:

And from that:

Since my motorcycle wreck in July 2013, I have been without a bike... and unable to ride even if I had one - this shoulder is taking FOREVER to heal. So here are a few clips from the dash cam in the car. I know, I know... it's not as exciting as helmet cam footage but here it is anyway. The dash cam shows the GPS coordinates and the time/date which I think is a neat feature.

The dash cam is a Mini 0801.
See it here: http://goo.gl/RT3eSj

In this video:
1. Driver passes me then runs off the road. Thankfully, he corrected before he had an accident.
2. Idiot waits until I am right on her before pulling out in front of me.
3. Red light runners... never ending supply of these losers.

Thanks for watching and I hope to have some more videos soon. We're going on a 3 week vacation this summer so we'll have lots to share from that.
