your friend had to ask your opinion of the condition of his tire?? Was he under the impression it was still good? Wow! That's a worn out tire!

I'm jealous, I was stuck in my home office in my basement all day...only time I got out was before 7 to get the newspaper. I had no idea it was so nice out!

that's refreshing to see! My S200 required full seat tub plastics removal for a simple rear bulb change.

These Piaggios are really nice machines, and a blast to ride.  But they're horribly unreliable and a nightmare to diagnose and repair. Everything runs along nicely until, on the highway a day's ride from home . . . it just stops.  But, that said, they're still a fun ride.

Stig might disagree with you as he's almost daily ridden his Liberty for a few years, now, apparently with no trouble.

red scoot looks good in the snow!...and you just reminded me that I need to get my outside lights taken down, too...at some point...

me: waiting until the temp hit 40 F (4.4 C) with full sun and blue skies, yesterday afternoon, before going out for a ride.

Stig: cold, dark, rain, wind? Perfect!

Keep it up Stig, you're a legend!

General Discussion / Re: NSR: 'Red-Green' oil change on the HONDA TB-160
« on: February 09, 2024, 01:53:42 PM »
randyo - I think Stig is joking about the reports (real..imagined?) of large number of apartment dwellers and others that go to walmart to buy oil and filter and change it in their parking lot..then go on their way!

Good to see you changing your mower oil, Stig..too many ignore that. My Toro is like your mower, no drain plug. Oil is drained out of the fill tube...all 20 dirty ounces of it.

But can we avoid the dreaded 'lawn mower' talk for a few more months? ... since I started riding, mowing is the Last thing in the world I want to do!

I only asked as the helmet looks white in the photo?

Neil, I assumed it was due to the black & white photo

General Discussion / got some throttle therapy, today
« on: January 31, 2024, 07:32:10 PM »
after a month of cold, dark, gray, snowy weather we finally have sunshine, blue skies and temps in the 40's F (4-9 C) .

I was able to get in my first ride of the year and first since Dec 20th. Since today is Jan 31, I will still be able to reach my goal of riding in every month of the year! I know everyone on this board understands the mental health benefits of twisting the throttle....and man, it felt good!

Ripping through the gears on my little Ninja, cold hands and feet be damned! 19.5 miles today...I can't wait for the warmer weather to come.

yesterday was our first sunny, warm(er) day in a long time! Glad you made it out. I'm still aiming for a Wednesday ride so I can maintain my streak of riding in all 12 months...better weather coming, soon!

on previous S200...reflective rim tape and additional red tape on luggage rack and aftermarket top case (for nightime visibility, ironic, because I don't ride at night)..Dr Pulley sliders, led bulbs in taillight and turn signals, red silicone vacuum lines (looked cool) and installed working 'International market' led front turn signals and wired them up as running lights.

Helix - only added led head and tail lights and utopia backrest (for comfort).

Technical | How To / Re: wash it after wet rides?
« on: January 26, 2024, 11:10:13 PM »
the Honda spray polish / detailer is good stuff, I've also used it for a number of years. Funny thing, I've never washed a scooter with water..ever..it helps that I don't ride in the rain or muck. My bikes have a ceramic spray coating on them and I spend 30 seconds with a spray detailer after my rides. Good as new!
