Side By Side / 450 Turf edition
« on: April 28, 2018, 11:03:06 PM »
Curious if anyone has the turf edition of the UXV 450 and how it compares to the standard version. Does the open rear diff really help on grass? How does it steer and handle?? Contemplating trading my 15 for a 18

Side By Side / Fuel tank leak?
« on: April 18, 2018, 01:23:17 AM »
So today I pulled the UXV 450 out to get my zero turn out. Parked the 450 on my sidewalk coming from the shed. It’s a slight incline very slight not much at all. Well after mowing come back around and notice a wet spot right side directly under the fuel tank where you fill the tank. Cap was on an tight obviously. Wipped the wet spot yep it was gas. Any idea why the gas was leaking out or where from?

Side By Side / Kymco UXV 450 rear view mirror
« on: April 14, 2018, 10:47:10 PM »
Anyone know of a good rear view mirror that works for the 450? I bought one from seizmik that I never could get mounted and adjusted properly so I could see out the rear of the vehicle. Anyone have one that works and provides good rearword visability???

Throttle cable recall on select year model 15-16 UXV 450. Throttle cable is apparently sticking in wide open position.

I thought Polaris only had recalls?!!! LOL

Side By Side / Help...BATTERY ISSUES WITH MY 450
« on: September 10, 2017, 01:44:44 AM »
Any idea what could be causing my battery in my 450 to go dead after it sits? (Been sitting more than running lately)

Quick run down...my wiring for my winch got all buggered up. Killed the original battery. Got the wire mess for the winch taken care of. Put a brand new really nice battery from O'Reilly in. That was back first of August only really driven it once since then. Today the battery had to be charged. Doesn't make much sense to me. (And no I haven't kept the battery tender on it like I should. But that is going to change from now on it will be.) but it's been a month no more than a month an half since I got the winch wiring problem fixed at the dealer and put the new battery in. Last started and drove about three weeks ago an everything was fine. Started right up and ran like a top. Any ideas???

Side By Side / Break Chatter UXV 450i
« on: February 09, 2017, 12:50:52 AM »
When traveling forward, H or L doesn't matter, and applying medium to heavy brake pressure there is a chatter. Only does it when breaking. Is this normal??? Or a concern?? Thanks

Side By Side / KYMCO UXV 450i GROUND CLEARANCE...
« on: January 30, 2017, 01:36:32 AM »
IN CASE YOU ALL DIDN"T KNOW, IT SUCKS!!!!! Got to get more clearance, especially on the front end. I was so aggravated with the clearance today. I put it through its paces and she always pulled through, but high centered a hand full of times. Got to fix this ASAP.

Side By Side / 26" tires
« on: January 26, 2017, 08:45:36 PM »
Anyone running 26" tires on their Kymco UXV 450i?  Just doing some research. Leaning towards replacing the stock 25" with 26x9-12 in the front and 26x11-12 in there. I've also read of people going to the same size all the way around, for example like 26x10-12 or something.  Anyone running anything different than stock? Any issues?

Side By Side / Windshield Ideas for UXV 450i
« on: January 26, 2017, 03:38:12 AM »
My 450i that I purchased came with a pretty nice one piece windshield. I like it just fine. But come summer time I want to be able to remove the upper half. So my options are either cut my existing windshield (which I kind of don't want to do) and put a piano hinge across it and use the pieces like seizmik have on this windshield to secure the flipped down portion - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxm-yB9EgH4&feature=youtu.be

Or buy another windshield all together. I like this  http://www.pacificeagleutv.com/kymco-450-windshield

I also have the factory roof, I like it as well. But would like to seem some other hard top options come out for it eventually.

I have a list of things I want done before riding season cranks up here:

-Mirrors (close to ordering the ones from seizmik just waiting to here back from the company for the dimensions on the two I am looking at) (really like the company Seizmik, they're a local NC company about 2 hours from home, so I like trying to support them, just wish they wouldn't make EVERYTHING mostly for Polaris.)

And this light (little pricey but I like it) Could probably just take one of my head lamps and run some Velcro through it and strap around it.

-Mud flaps for the front wheel wells (see Mud flap topic on the forum)

-Adjusting the preload on the shocks to gain some clearance (and eventually 26x9-12 tire on the front and 26x11-12 on the rear, probably Maxxis Bighorn 2.0)

-Maybe some additional lighting or upgrading the headlight bulbs.

And I think thats it. For now anyway LOL. These machines are pretty solid in stock form as is.

Thanks for letting me ramble......Love this Forum.

Side By Side / Rear Tailgate Storage on UXV 450i
« on: January 21, 2017, 07:59:14 PM »
Has anyone had any issues with the lid for the tailgate storage not staying shut on these UXV 450i? Mine on the left (drivers) side doesn't want to stay shut. I haven't tried to adjust the rod that latches to the plastic tab inside there yet. But I am thinking I may have to screw some type of small external latch on the outside of that lid and the plastic? Anyone else running into this? Its not the greatest design IMO.

Side By Side / Considering new UXV 450i Camo
« on: December 18, 2016, 08:52:34 PM »
Hello to all on the Kymco Forum.  I am new here. I have been doing EXTENSIVE research on the UXV 450i, and side x sides in general. I have read many many of the post on here related to the 450i and kymco in general. This 450i is one neat cool machine. Sized right with all the right touches. Man the storage options on this thing! I love it! My side x side would used for 60% recreation/sport trail riding and 40% work-gardening around the house and such chores moving stuff, hunting and fishing etc. (basically 50/50 leaning more of the rec and trail riding side) How does this motor truly perform? I've read all the reviews from major outlets- I tend to take them with a grain of salt because dollars in their pockets often influences what they say about a product they are reviewing IMO. But none the less all I'm reading is positive positive positive!!! How is the top end? Don't need or want a speed demo but not a slug either, 50ish mph or there abouts is good with me. I am interested in the camo. Does anyone have the camo? How is the quality of the plastics? Did I mention the storage?! I can't get over how clever they were in the design of this thing.

At 8499 MSRP for the camo, with the accessories I want or like to have from the kymco site my total would be around 10,500. Not a bad deal considering the cost of other "base" side x sides. Of coarse I can always add accessories later or make my own but I figure since I would be financing why not get it the way I want if the payments stay manageable.

Any changes between the 2016 and 2017 models?? I have emailed getinfo@kymcousa.com as well. Awaiting to see what response I get.

Last week I test drove a 700 UXV in the parking lot of local dealer. Not even sure or know if they had a 450i but I'm going back to look. The 700 was nice and power from the short ride I had seemed good. The salesman said he did know that the kymco 700i would take the Honda pioneer 700. But this 450i is hands down a nicer machine over all from what I can tell. Anyway just looking for some feed back, curious about the 450i top end, speed.

Thanks and happy riding
Josh
