Sold it.  Good luck to everyone, I've decided the scooter is too small for my size, and went up to a small(ish) cruiser (motorcycle) instead.

I bought this brand new 9 months ago, has 4600 miles on it.  I've added a SHAD 50L top box.  Great condition, never laid down/crashed, but there is some minor scuffing on the top of the SHAD top box.

Asking: $3500.

I'm just a few miles outside of Seattle, close to the airport, but can try to work with you to somehow help you get the scooter to relatively close areas as well.  Probably a 500-700 mile radius max.

Have any specific questions?  Please ask!

Downtown 300 / Re: New Seat available
« on: May 04, 2015, 05:54:15 PM »
Any chance you can share what dealer was able to get this imported seat?  I was looking at the kymco global site, and I see there is the Downtown 350i that doesn't appear to have made it to the US.  That seat seems like it has a better seat than the 300i.

I just did a 500 mile trip over 2 days on the DT 300i, and after the trip I've decided something must be done about the seat.  I'm to the point where I either find a better seat or I sell the bike and get something else, its that uncomfortable to me.

Thanks for the reply.  The more I read about this custom seat place, the more intrigued I am.  I'm about an hour away from them, and I'm tempted to spend the money.  Based on your feedback, I've requested more information on their seat foam, and hopefully I can learn more.  I have the airhawk pad on right now, and I put it on because I slide forward so much and shift back that I've started to push the foam around enough to where I can feel the springs in the seat.

As a side note, should the durability of the seat be covered under Manufacturers warranty?  I can't find anything to make me believe it isn't.

Downtown 300 / Custom Seat
« on: April 28, 2015, 06:26:51 PM »
I like some other people on the forum, really like the Downtown, except for that seat!  Oh its terrible, and it is almost enough for me to want to sell the scoot and get something else.  Recently, I started looking more on the internet at the idea of getting an aftermarket or custom seat.  Living in Seattle, I found this guy (link below), which seems to be a good option for getting a custom seat, and at $500, it doesn't seem that bad of an option.  I'm curious, has anyone done anything like this, or even with this guy (long shot, I know)?

Downtown 300 / Improved passenger foot rest/pegs
« on: September 15, 2014, 05:45:49 PM »
My wife complains that it is uncomfortable for her, and wished she could rest her feet a little further out.  My thought was to see if there would be a way to securely fasten some motorcycle foot pegs to the scooter, but I see nothing obvious to attach them to.  Has anyone done anything to try to make the passenger foot rest area more comfortable?  I searched on the forum, but didn't really find anything helpful.

Downtown 300 / Seat Cushion

For those of you who have seat Cushions on your Downtown's, what brand/model and what size.  Do you like it?  I'm finding my seat is just not very comfortable, and want to do something to improve the situation.

Thanks!

General Discussion / Re: Rear luggage rack question.

I can't answer your specific question, but just a thought - have you considered a top case like the SHAD or GIVI?  I just bought the SHAD case for my downtown, and am waiting for it to arrive still.  One of the things that sold me on it though is it looks like I can add a rack to the top of the case, giving me even more storage, if needed.

welcome my brother then, i really like that scooter, what color did you get , i got the grey one

I got grey also.  I wasn't picky about color, and would have taken any for the price they offered, but that said, I like the grey color the best anyways.

I'm using it to commute to work, and there is something pretty satisfying about my "little" scooter beating pretty much everyone off the line.  I find myself trying to force myself to not take off as quick, I'm just loving the power it has.

Yeah not sure how that dealer made any money off that sale, cost is $4400 lol.

Its a 2013, and apparently was the "last one they could get", whatever that means, so I'm wondering if it was marked down by Kymco in an effort to dump remaining 2013 inventory.  Regardless, as far as I can tell, no differences between 2012, 2013 or 2014, except for maybe color choices, and I honestly could care less what color it is.  Okay, maybe I wouldn't be too excited about pink, so maybe I do care a little.

The burning smell is cosmaliene burning out of the muffler. Perfectly normal.

Thanks, I figured it was normal.

One other question - is there a way to switch the odometer from KMH to MPH?

Edit: Nevermind, I just found this - http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=10504.msg107785#msg107785

Picked up the DT 300i today.  So far I really like it.  Haven't done much yet other than just poke around the neighborhood.  One thing I did notice, which I believe is just normal break in, but I'm smelling a very faint burning smell, almost like paint or something burning.  I assume this is normal, but thought I'd ask?
