Yager GT 200i / Re: Yager 200i Air Filter
« on: April 30, 2013, 10:19:20 AM »
I think you're worrying too much about possible differences between the Frost and the Yager; I'm reasonably confident that they're identical. In fact, I understand that they come into Canada with Yager badging that has to stripped off and replaced. I also understand that there are no direct bike shipments from Taiwan to Canada; they come from the US importer. So, I can't imagine that there's any difference at all. As for HiFlo's e-mail response, I'd bet they've never heard of a Frost, and therefore won't give a definitive answer to you question.

For those who might be  interested, Givi windscreens for the Yager are available through Importations Thibault in Canada; here's their catalogue page:

I believe the Givi is slightly taller than the Isotta from Austria, and based on my discussion with EuroNetBike, the Givi is more expensive. Also, the Givi doesn't have the "Dink" graphic. I have no idea how they compare with respect to quality, installation, etc.

General Discussion / Re: 2014 Piaggio Fly: Looks really Good!
« on: April 20, 2013, 01:03:22 PM »
I just migrated from a Piaggio Fly 150  to a Frost (Yager). I was happy with the functionality of the Fly for my purposes, and had no intention of changing. Then, I saw the new version announcement, and thought the improvements made it worth considering an upgrade. In addition to the engine enhancements, I was particularly interested in the increased under-seat storage (they've moved the gas tank and the battery) and my understanding that they've increased the battery capacity; trust me, the previous little 9AH battery (no room for anything bigger) was a constant source of headaches and anxiety.

I felt that, if I was considering a new Fly, I owed it to myself to look at what else was available. To make a long story short, I found that I could get a new 2012 Frost for a lower OTD price than a 2013 Fly, and in the process, hopefully get away from all the little idiosyncrasies that seem to accompany Piaggio scooters. So far, in my estimation, the Frost has proven to be much more bike than the improved Fly will ever be.

I dont know why someone saying theyre going to nuke the US and is still breathing or not in jail. Let any one else in the world say theyre going to bomb anything, let alone DC, and see if theyre not in jail. Someone has their head up their rear end.

North Korea has no oil.

If you go into the Catalogue section of the HiFlo site and search for part HFA5003, you get a list of 10 bikes (all Kymcos) for which the filter is intended. Some of them, including the Dink 200ie, have a notation of "Euro3"; it's not obvious what this implies, but it might have some bearing on its suitability for North American models.

I never would have imagined that my first post would be for a topic such as this, but the following seems to be appropriate:
