Quannon / Tires
« on: August 23, 2011, 11:38:56 PM »
Lol...hope fully I'll get more posts when more quannon owners decide to find this place...

Was thinking about replacing the stock kenda's with something more...umm... stickier...

I realize it's overkill, and I wouldn't prob ever need sticky tires on a 150...but I'm gonna put it out there anyway...

So anyone gots anything else on other then the stock tires?  Did you notice any difference...pros/cons??

Chainsaw or with a sledge hammer.

May have an issue getting it back on though.

The tube is the overflow for the gas tank... if you over fill it, it goes down the hole (you can see it right between the hole where the gas goes in and the front of the tank...sort of in that painted collar.

Have you been going to studio to have it checked?

Weird...

FYI I'm no mechanic, so I don't know too much...

but if you're gas cap is vented then it should be letting air in.  If it works fine when you open the tank, maybe the vent isn't fully drilled through? (the gas tank isn't supposed to be sealed.  there's a vaccuum pump under the tank that supplies the gas..how it works I have no idea)

As for temp, I've run mine here with temps from 15C to 35C no problem.  Also rode on the highways and no problems the next day.

Are you using the right gas? I think it should be 91 octane (at least it says so in the owners manual)
Fuel filter clogged?

Wish I knew more to help you with

Glad they found the problem, hope it goes well.

oh yeah...the gas cap...

there's a little hole if you flip it over on the edge... apparently you have to punch a hole in it so that there is a flow of air into the tank so the gas gets through.

Tried again last night...  got up to 124.  Still had a bit of room to spare, was going slightly downhill though.

Sup man...

Sort of a similar problem that I had....

Check the gas cap, seems that the factory doesn't vent them after shipping and expect that to be part of the PDI.  Pretty sure you just have to drill the hole, but don't take my word for it, my guys at the shop did it and I just caught the start of the procedure.

I also had an issue with the idle... long story short....

It was too low, so we turned it up so the engine wouldn't quit. Then we figured out the gas cap situation.  Left it a bit high, then turned it down to about 1600-1700 (adjustment when warm) but I kinda like it at 1800-1900.  It's something your mech should do or at least show you how to do on your own.

Pretty sure if you do the venting on the gas cap, it will solve it.

No, not running it, did see it too after reading your post.  I wonder how much of a difference it would make.  Hope someone gives it a shot and gives the details of the changes.  If it adds 20 km on the top end, I'd be interested.
