Don't bother. None around, if you want more top speed save ur money and buy a different bike.

I'll second that...it's so easy to do work on this bike.  If you have access to parts and average tools, you would never need to bring it to a mechanic unless it's something major.

Valve adj, prob takes 2 hours max when you get the hang of it. Oil change...like 20 mins.  All you need is oil, a socket set, a torque wrench, and a funnel.

Wow...i can't believe I got those tires that long ago...
Long story on the bike...it was out of commission for a while between repairs and life changes but I'm still running the pilot activ's and honestly it's like they still look brand new.  Very little wear, I've prob got about 10,000 on them now.  I'm still sticking by that they will last 40,000.

So any updates here? Looks like an older thread so I don't expect to see one, but just in case...

Hoping that someone out there got this kit lol... I would love to know if it was worth it!  Looks like the seller only made a couple of them, they've been long gone for a while now.

So still running the pilot activ's...

Not much to say, 6000 or so km in, they're better then kendas, way less vibration (but I'd say cuz the kenda's were old and almost completly worn) and the grip is a bit better.  They're definitely a touring tire, more geared to long life rather then sticky for cornering.  In the 6000km so far, I haven't even noticed that they've worn out at all lol.... these may very well last over 40,000 km

Cool mods so far... simple and effective.  Keep us informed of your progress, most definitely interesting stuff.

When I got my bike I was all ready to pump some cash into making it faster...then did absolutely nothing because I figured it wasn't worth it.  I don't know enough about carbs to be fiddling around with that stuff, it would mean I would be bikeless for who knows until I got it working again.

You've chosen unbelievably cost effective things that will really make a difference for your bike... totally awesome.  Again...would love to know how it turns out.

Question for you : what does machining the piston heads accomplish?

You also mentioned the float, in what I researched apparently the float is set too low (not enough fuel to sustain high rpm's).  I also know from experience having the bike sputter out on the freeways....with traffic...all around...lol... good times!  I was told that it would have to be bent/shimmed to get some more capacity...I have no clue what that means for what it's worth lol.

Also in total agreement with the "140km"...  even downhill with a wind behind me I could barely squeak out 130....so you must have been holding on to a faster car, or the bike was in a trailer and the car was doing 140.

One more question... how much of a difference is the launch off a stop with the 17t?

So I finally got new tires...just have to have them installed.

The stock Kenda's lasted quite a long time.  I'm at about 20,000 and the front is just at the wear bars.  The rear was changed at around 5,000 and it still probably has a good 3,000 left in it.  I did run over some debris though, so instead of just getting a new front and riding on the plugged rear (which held up quite well...mushroom plugs seem to be pretty tough) I got both.

Paid into a set of Pilot Activ.  Reviews seem pretty good, they mostly read as "long lasting" and "decent". I'm not expecting them to be sticky race tires, just to do the job, and hopefully a little better then the stock Kenda's.

I'll chime in later when I get a feel for them and let you know how they worked out.

So lets bring this one back... anyone decide to bite into this kit?  I'm considering it lately more than usual.

You'll have to get a new rim.  Too big to run the 160 on a rim designed for a 140. It would pinch too much and completely alter the tires characteristics/profile.

Wow. Thanks man.  I didn't know that.

In case anyone was wondering, it's a 428-130.

Anyone know the chain size for the quannon?  I guess the 150 is the same as the 125, but if there is a difference and someone knows... please post.

I wish I could help you.

It's not easy to find parts for the quannon.  Your best option for finding parts is to look at companies based in Taiwan or Thailand.  It seems they have so many more quannon's that the market can support companies making aftermarket parts.

Good place to start.. http://www.wrrp.com.tw/

Take a look at some of the forums, you may find other ones.

If you have a friend that can read Taiwanese, http://tw.yahoo.com/ has a "for sale" section that's is pretty extensive as far as google translate lets me see.
