Have used magnets of different type without any further issue for 4+ years, now. My husband and I both use them and they DO work. The brand we bought are Green Light Triggers and I use the more powerful version. Google online for best price.

I find that if I jump off and do The Hokey Pokey with some enthusiasm  the light will eventually trigger. Plus the line of cars across the intersection from me seems to get a kick out of this.
Just sayin.....

Hitting the starter will trigger the sensor. I'm not sure if on our scooters this wold grind a gear, so it may be necessary to turn the ignition off, then restart.

I have tried the Hokey Pokey thing before but it just didn't seem to work for me. Maybe it was because I wasn't in just my undies? I think I will try that next time.

I got most of my lights timed just right. I know when to slow down and roll up on it when it turns green and then after that the next few ligts will be green from there on.
