Just watched an news bit about your pubs reopening.
I see that it is actually very, very big news for the English!

Here small groups gather at McDonald's for breakfast meets, local bars have a steady clientele of stool sitters, union and veterans clubs have a group, my coffee shop has the Liar's Club, etc,
But I'm not sure that we have anything exactly as important and agreeable to American life - as is the Pub to the Brits.

Right now, we don't agree on very much of anything.

Stig.

And to be frank Stig, not sure that all Brits agree on the pub reopening thing either!  I for one, gave it a miss although a friend of mine did visit one for a meal with his wife while out in the Peak District (local national park) and said it was very well organised such that he and his wife felt very safe.  Think we'll leave it a week or two more to settle down.

My wife has just reminded me that she's only been out of our village three times since early March....  Think that's a dig at me nipping off on the scooter!  As I explain to her though, how more socially distanced can you get than being out on 2 wheels with all the protective gear?
