what to adjust? exhaust valve clearance? i'm already using a leo vince pipe.

btw it also backfires a few secs after turnning the engine off.
I was reading a lot of different manuals today. I don't recall which one I read this from, sorry, but, it may apply to any model. Anyway, for what it's worth it said possible causes for:

Backfiring at deceleration
>Lean mixture in idle system
>Improper air cut off valve operation

Don't know if that has anything to do with TPS, though. (What's a TPS? LOL)

So there was nothing left inside your exhaust? Somewhat of a straight pipe type setup? Seems odd to run smooth but have that annoying side effect.

I did read somewhere else on here about another person with this "PFFT." Don't think there was a resolution listed, though...

Did you throw it away or keep it?

Or did it break apart when you removed it?

Maybe the noise wasn't about the exhaust, but an early indication of whatever made it quit running.

Sorry.

That is just too weird! I can't figure it out.

You sure something didn't fall out of the cat and get stuck somewhere in the baffling?

..no..the pipe was just not able to process the exhaust in the manner that it was engineered...
