I used to have a Vespa GTS 250 with a few (ahem) modifications that would beat anything from a stop. Autos and motorcycle riders would get their panties in a bunch when I always beat them off the line and stayed far ahead, until max speed. I couldn't outrun the Harleys on long straightaways. Once passed a line of cars doing 90 on the interstate and got some funny looks. Came to my senses and sold the bike minus upgrades a few years ago; now happy in the slow lane.
I am completely on board with you guys about the scooter/motorcycle safety issue. What difference does it make what you fall off of at 50 mph, moto or scoot?
