Maintenance Records

Just wondering how many of you keep, up-to-date maintenance records on all your vehicles? I have one file cabinet drawer filled with folders containing maintenance information on my cars, trucks, motorcycle, scooter, four wheeler and Gravely zero turn.

I do. All my documents, from receipts to registrations are scanned on though (the most important are retained in odor format for as long as they are relevant)

I'm believing that most of you conscientious scooter owners, who realize the value of machines and the pleasure that they bring, do everything you can to keep them maintained, by the book. I was raised that way. More replies?

yep, I'm a maintenance nerd...keep a spreadsheet on cars, bikes, mower and snow blowers...keep mine on my computer but also save all hard copies of maintenance on my cars

I have always done so. When selling it provides some peace of mind for the new owner. For me it lets me budget for upcoming service needs.

Count me as another who keeps track of such things. I use a spreadsheet and keep copies of my maintenance records. It's the accountant in me.

Me, too! 'Cept my record is in the back of the Owner's manual. No batteries required!

The spreadsheet thingie is probably the best way to go, with hard copy back-up, but I'm old school and I just write it all down. The point is that. we keep up with what's required. Without proper and timely  care nothing will last very long, no matter how good is made. We're at 100% so far and I'm not at all surprised.

Keep the records of oilx2, filters, belts, rollers, tires, battery, bearings in the owner's manual, if space there. If, not, like the Suzuki - on the last pages of the big factory service manual.
Not so much for the next owner - because he'll probably never pull the dipstick - but for me.
Actually, since I don't seem to keep scooters very long - all my servicing is probably wasted $.
I break in per the manual and change oils so it will be a good runner years from now - but I haven't kept any for years but this LIKE200i !

I guess you can call me crazy to Stig. I do the exact same thing. When I first got this DT I rode it to church one Sunday morning and a friend was getting out of his truck. He hollowed over to me, "Mac do you want  to sell that scooter?"" I said no Rudy, I just got it, to which he replied, "ok mac, I'll check back with you on Wednesday." I'm not that bad, but I do have a repatriation.

 I use a composition book for maintenance for each scooter. Draw a vertical line on the right side to separate date and text from mileage. I write type and brand of oil, as well as valve adjustments. I even write down if I add an accessory, such as chrome crash bars for the Like, or experiment with different sliders. I rarely remember when the last oil change was on the Like, without using a reference. The Smax has an oil change reminder as an odometer function.
