New to me Like 200i - an update
« on: July 31, 2019, 06:12:05 PM »
I have had a few minor glitches with the 200i but overall, it's a sweet ride.
I just passed the 10k km mark on the new (to me) Like 200i.
You cannot lean into corners or you scrape the center stand. :o
Oil change, spark plug change and valve adjustment were all super easy. Exhaust valve was very tight.
Wonderfully comfortable around town. Lots of get up and go.
Harsh ride over bad roads. Pot holes, cracks, manhole covers....
Gas mileage seems fair. Still working it out.
Top speed seems to be about 90 kms.
Speedometer is remarkably accurate when checked with a GPS.
Don't fill the gas tank beyond the metal bar or it will dribble on the side stand.
The space under the seat gets mighty hot! Has anyone tried using it to cook while on longer trips?

Things to come:
I could only source a regular spark plug. I will put in an iridium as soon as I find one.
I will "hard Seafoam" the fuel system.
Air filter needs checking but it sounds okay.

So far, so good,
Ian in Ottawa

Agree about the harsh ride....but then most scooters are not fun on bad roads. Limited suspension travel and engine banging up and down with the tire precludes a smooth ride?. Check tire pressure, and better tires help some.

Why the seafoam if it's running well?
Airfilter seems to stay clean for a long time - something to do with where the snorkel end is located?

CR7HIX is the Iridium from NGK (had better results with this than the Denso Iridium) I order mine from auto parts stores. @$7 US

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
