Kymco Downtown 125i question
« on: June 24, 2017, 08:32:11 PM »
As a new owner of the above bike can someone please tell me whether the high beam and low beams on this bike are separate bulbs.
When looking at the lights on the front of the bike you see two headlamps.
When low beam switch on the right hand light comes on and the left hand light stays off.
When the high beam is switched on the right hand light goes out and the left hand comes on.
I ask this as the police stopped me today to tell me that I had a burnt light.
I told them that that was not so.Can someone please let me know.
Thank you.

Sounds like you may have to check your service/user manual.

First all where are you located as the scoot could be different depending on what country it is sold in. As far as how it's supposed to work if your headlights have a clear lens you should be able to see how many filaments each bulb has. One filament single function, dual filaments dual function.

I always thought it kinda odd that most crotch rockets used one side for high and the other for low. I like my Burgman 650's because they have dual low/high beam headlamps. My Kymco MyRoad 700i has two low beam bulbs and a center high beam bulb whereas my Aprilia Atlantic 500 has a single center mounted low beam and dual high beams.
