Lighter Charger? FIXED!
« on: April 07, 2017, 09:32:38 AM »
Hi any suggestions on what it is and how to fix the lighter charger inside the glove box?  It has never worked for me right from the start and I just let it go.

I broke two plastic parts one one that black triangle cover (one side snapped!) the other on that black piece at the bottom of the front cover. Sigh

The whole front cap must be removed (the white pointy part with the headlights) to access the fuse.

Thank you Karl, yeah I got it and broke to plastic parts!! :P I heard also that changing the 0.2A fuse to a 1A fuse will work better for this.  What do you think?

The wires are big enough to handle 1 amp, in my opinion. I, on the other hand, wired mine direct to the battery with a 10 amp fuse and its holder right at the battery. This powers the Wolo horn and allows a battery charger to be plugged into that outlet. Number 12 insulated wire, red. This setup eliminates a lot of heartburn. De dee put a fuse holder inside the glove box which was genius! These .2 amp fuses hidden under nearly impossible to remove bodywork had to be designed by a committee.

:D yes, I had hooked up my own charger from the battery last year and it sits under my seat.  It works well but I just wanted to fix this one in the glove box it I could.

Fuse changed and now it works! Yay!
