Now I have to show some patience. I want to clean the carb, put it back on and see how it runs before I put the pipe on and rejet it. It's run a little lean ever since I bought it and I want the before and after comparisons to be fair.

Oh and I want to get my Arduino thermocouple working and do head temps too.

Pipe looks good, good price, and reasonable shipping.  An easy bolt on mod!  Looking forward to how it runs.

I am not familiar with Arduino thermocouple?, I guess didn't go with TrailTech TTO.

Here's the Arduino. It's a diy microcontroller. In the pic, you can see the spark plug adapter. The little chip connected to the red bread board is a thermocouple amplifier. It works now with output to my computer monitor. I need to get it to send to an led display so I can take it with me on the scooter.

I didn't either a month ago, but it's open source and my friend Mr. W. W. Webb is a good teacher.

Looks pretty nice. The bracket is just thin stamped steel. Fit fine except one of the supplied bolts wasn't long enough so I'll have to get a longer one.

Much lighter than the 13.6 pound OEM exhaust. Forgot to weigh it before I put it on but I read online that it weighs 7.7 pounds.

Sounds pretty quiet. Didn't have time to rejet the carb yet so haven't ridden it.

Well that was disappointing. I cleaned and rejetted the carb. Went up to a 95 main. Took it for a ride and I can't tell any performance difference.

It's supposed to make max power around 8500 rpm, but even on a long straight it's not getting above 7500.

I have 6 gram weights in the variator which tunes it to about 7200 rpm, so I'll probably have to go to 5 gram weights.

Any thoughts?

Not sure what's going on, maybe your carb is smaller than mine, I don't know.  I think I was running 7 to 7.5g sliders in mine, worked great, but I was running 108 main jet.  Don't know what you weigh, but I am approx 175 to 180#'s.  Also, I was running Malossi variator, which seems to help keep revs up, compared to OEM.

I looked at the linked comparison chart, and until you get past 7500 revs, you will have no improvement.  Bigger carb, better pipe is all about making more revs.

Try the lighter rollers, I tried 5g in mine once and it rev'd to the moon, should get you to the powerband.  Let us know, good luck.  Cheers

I had over jetted it. Stock People is supposed to have 82 main jet so I bought a 95 and 98 thinking one would be close.

When I took out the main, it was a 70. Very small but I am at 5000 feet here in Denver. Even so it had been acting lean at times. I did pull the plug before I started and it looked almost perfect for a plug with 1000 miles on it.

Since I didn't have a jet between 70 and 95, I used torch top cleaners to make an approximately 89 jet. It ran better, now seems a tiny bit lean.

Variator weights are keeping the ramp up to about 7300 or less rpm. Now it will keep creeping up in speed and when it hits around 7500, it really gets going.

Before the pipe on the flat, I could hit about 42 on the speedometer which is probably about 38 mph. Now it will go beyond 50 indicated. I don't know how much beyond because I ran out of road.

I'll go down to the 5 gram rollers and go up just a bit richer on the jet and see how it does.
