The motor of the 125cc fit on the 50cc frame?
« on: January 16, 2013, 04:33:35 PM »
I know the People 50S (4t) have the same frame of the People 125cc, but i don't know if it's possible to swap 125cc motor ont the People 50S frame????

The 125cc have 2 shocks on the back with a swingarm on the right side. I know it's possible to remove this swingarm because on the 49cc version we didn't have 2 shockson the back...

Do you think it's possible to install this motor without the swingarm on the frame of the People 50S ???

I would worry about overpowering the frame and the brakes.
Going from a 50 to 125cc, the engine  is both heavier and more powerful.
It sounds like the 50cc frame with 1 shock may not work well with an engine from a scooter with 2 shocks ?

In the long run, it is usually cheaper to replace the vehicle than to make it into something other than the original design.
And the replacement vehicle probably is more enjoyable to ride.

Anyway, an interesting question.

I ask the question, beacause with a 72cc kit we can hit 50Mph (80 km\h) and a 125cc People top speed is around 60~64 mph!
If you check the specs between the People 50S and the People 125, they use almost the same parts for brake, suspensionsand other...
Here, we have a big motocycle scrapyard and it's  possible to buy a Kymco People 125 for 375$, the motor is intact but the front of the scooter is  scrap.  ;D

Well they do it on the little Ruckus but some of the 50's mount from the bottom and
most 125's mount from the top. You'd have to make some sort of engine mount I'd
guess...
