A little pezzed off tonight
« on: June 01, 2013, 03:01:14 AM »
Just came out of work and my scoot is on it's side, chain is still in place, no obvious tampering. So either someone knocked it over or attempted to take her. The front right side plastic is broken and the signals now don't work. The ignition seems damaged but I'm not sure if they tried to start it or if when it fell the plastic just moved.

Will check it out more in the daylight hours tomorrow. Anyone have an idea of what the front section of plastic fender costs and what might be wrong with the tail lights and signal switch?

Damn 08! Sorry man!  That is really frustrating....  Did you park on your center stand?

Your lights might have been damaged on impact...

I have never once used my side-stand ever. Center is the only way to go on level ground. Sorry 08...that really stinks. Do you have insurance? Hopefully you'll be out $500.00

That sucks, 08.  Hope your scooter is back on the road soon, and if someone messed with your bike, I hope the fleas from a thousand camels infest his nether regions.

After I got her back up and running I went back into work and brought up a few cameras but the bike was out of sight of our cameras as it was parked off property and down a side street, it was worth a shot though.

I always park on the center stand and drop the side stand incase in gets pushed but it didn't help. I looked at the lock and chain again and there is no cutting or sawing of any kind so I'm guessing either someone that could not park hit it or some kids climbed on her and knocked her over.

The scoot is road worthy with exception of the directional signals, for now I'll use hand signals until I can see what's wrong with them. The lights themselves seem untouched, but not sure how the switch got damaged. Mainly just frustrating and aggravating. I'm hoping the new plastic's won't be too much money, again if anyone knows what the panels run or where t buy them let me know. Don't want to go through Kymco if I don't have to.

Had that happen to mine a few months back.  And I live in a fenced in community for the elderly or disabled!  $600 in damages just from being tipped over.  I got it fixed (thanks to Geico) and never had any issues from it being on its side.  In fact, I set it up right and waited a couple hours for the leaked gas to evaporate, and it started right up.

I have seen the used plastic body panel pieces on eBay for various Kymco scooters.
You might get lucky and see some for your type of scooter. Panel parts are available from Kymco parts sellers online.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
