Hello, I recently bought a 2007 kymco ZX 50 a few weeks ago. However, the machine has been sitting for quite some time and needs some tune ups I believe. The first thing I want to change is the gear oil. I know where it is located but for some reason I can't find the drain plug that is supposed to be on the bottom of the engine. I know where the "fill" bolt is located because it says oil but I can't find the drain bolt. Secondly, I would like to change the spark plug(s) as well but don't know where those are located? Lastly, the machine only starts with the kick start, for some reason the electric start is broken, so I was wondering if there was something I could check maybe fuses or something to fix that? I'm decently mechanically inclined and I'm pretty sure I can do all this on my own but I've never owned a scooter before and just need some basic help.

Thanks

What up D?
Welcome to the forum... gREEEEEAt place here..
You can look up my zx threads. one here and in the beginning i had one on the tech section.
Also zombie, shaka, sid also have zx threads with valuble info..mine is called "my lil red demon" or my zx issues

On these model scootes, we don't have a "drain plug". The bolt at the bottom of the fill bolt IS the drain bolt. May have to lean it. There is not much in there at all anyway.

The spark plug is easier seen if the seat box is removed to see under the panels. If you look above/behind the rear tire, you should see the plug. the cooling shroud does hide it. Jus follow the coil wire.  ;)
We can get that z back ion order.  ;)
Keep us posted..  ;)

Most likely the starter relay is bad. Universal one is 8 bucks at the most

Look at the "fill" hole. Now look down to the left about 3". The drain is a bolt. Just like the rest. Remove the lowest bolt, and the fluid will drain. I use NAPA synthetic gear oil. 75-90wt. I just fill till it runs out the fill hole. Easy.
Since the bike sat for some time REPLACE the gas, and two stroke oil. Remove/rebuild the carb. Get a NEW belt, and rollers.
I know this makes little sense right now but as you get further into it keep posting, and like Bat's said we will get it running for you. OEM it can do approx 35=40mph de restricted it can do 4o-45.
