Change lights?
« on: November 05, 2011, 01:12:30 AM »
How hard is it to switch to LED lights for the super 8? Or maybe to the standard light blubs that are suppose to be the actual turn signals. I hate the ones that come only in the US model.

I bet you could take the side mounted lamps apart and move the electronics to the holes in the Euro spec blinkers.
You could do this with a LED kit as well.
I want to light those things up in addition to the stock blinkers.  Maybe just some annoying blinking lights to let cars know I am behind them.
I almost got backed into the other day.  It was my fault for parking directly behind a truck.

Oh, if you are handy but have not done any electrical work on this scooter before, I would put this in the medium difficulty level.
If you are not handy at all then it will be difficult.

On  a Super 8, just opening the lenses may take a half a day.,,,I have made 2 attempts  and not gotten to them yet. Maybe an on line manual would help?

On another site I read where changing to LED's were causing some  problems. They were losing all lighting. They spoke of AC ,DC mix  .Anyway, if your lights work leave them alone.Or, buy a scooter with LED lights.
IMHO

I believe there is a manual in the General section here. There is a thread called "links to manuals". If you KNOW what you are doing it is a no brainer. If not hire someone to "help"...
