tire pressure monitoring caps - any good?

I hate checking the air on my 4 scooter tires!
I've seen some tire valve caps that display, at a glance, in one fashion or another, the PSI reading in my tires.

Has anyone had good luck with these simple looking devices?
It would keep me from running under inflated tires without having to crawl around on the cold garage floor!

If you're talking TPMS then I've seen a few. Read reviews of a few more. Those work really well. IOW- yes those are good.

My AK 550 has TPMS that works really well. The psi is not shown on the valve stem or caps but on the dash. The AK has that embedded from the factory, but the TPMS that can be added to a bike aftermarket usually has a small display to clamp on the handlebars or stick someplace where it can be seen up front. Warning: don't simply put a TPMS cap on a rubber valve stem... even a straight stem. That WILL cause the stem to form cracks from stress and provide you with a rapid unexpected deflation of your tires (RUD). Metal valve stems are highly recommended. A T valve stem is best since the TPMS cap can be on the straight part and the valve on the side is then available to fill the tire as needed without messing with the TPMS cap.

I know this is an old thread, so I apologize for digging it up. However, I thought I might add some useful information.

I have used aftermarket tire pressure monitor caps in the past on my DT300 with excellent results. These are the external type that you screw onto the valve stem. As far as I know, they are no longer available (SteelMate TP-90E model, photo attached); however, there are many alternatives now available.

Some options come with internal units, which, although more labor-intensive to fit, are more practical in my opinion. With the screw-on type, you need to remove the sensor if you want to add air to the tires. Additionally, rubber fatigue on rubber valve stems—caused by the extra weight of these external units, as mentioned by rjs987—is also something to consider.

Both systems will require wheel rebalancing, as they add some weight that can offset the balance. Here's a link (not affiliate) I found on AliExpress for a device that can be had with internal sensors:

I've seen ones that connect to a smart phone via Bluetooth and a phone app is used to monitor the pressures if that is more convenient.
