Like 200i mirrors flopping around
« on: September 17, 2022, 05:41:23 AM »
New to the forum so please excuse if I make any etiquette mistakes. I recently purchased a used 2020 Like 200i and so far have enjoyed it, mostly. I say mostly because my mirrors are basically useless to me. Anytime I hit a speed above like 15mph they fly back towards me / fold in, which renders them useless. I fix them at every stop but it’s basically pointless as they move again almost immediately. I’m assuming maybe it’s some type of loose bolts or something? I am NOT the diy or handyman type at all and am scared of screwing this up so figured I’d get some advice before trying to mess with it. I want to replace the mirrors with something larger anyway as mine are oddly shaped (like bat wings kind of) and I feel this really limits visibility. Can anyone recommend a replacement I can buy online? I’m really not sure where to start. Thanks for any help! I greatly appreciate it.

First off, welcome to the forum and don’t worry too much about etiquette here, it’s very easy going!

There are a lot of very knowledgeable folks on here who’ll be right along to help. In fact, I’m amazed I’ve beaten Stig to it!  He has a Like 200 and has replaced his mirrors with, I seem to recall, Honda items which bolted straight on. He did post about it so try a search of the Like 200 section for starters?

Edit:  I was wrong, not Honda, Italian! See:  https://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=31036.msg217627#msg217627

Hello potato!
Welcome to the forum!
I bought longer mirrors from this seller many years ago  moto-science.com
They required an adapter to match the mm size of mirrors to scooter mount.
You can try contacting him at hb7777@gmail.com with your fitment questions.
Frankly....I found it to be very frustrating finding mirrors with a longer stem.

As  for your current floppy mirrors...slide the rubber cover up at the base of the mirror stem.  Tighten the nut. Do not get crazy.... you do not want to snap off the mount!
Or, you can remove the mirrors,  clean the threads with a stiff brush,  and apply drops of blue threadlock  (Loctite)  and remount.

Mirrors can be difficult.  Some screw on reverse, some normal right-tighty. Some are 10mm, some 8mm. Adapters are avail. on ebay for both situations.
Maybe your dealer could walk you through it?
Then there are mirror "extenders"(extensions) aplenty on ebay...to raise and push stock mirrors out further.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
