The starter button does absolutely nothing now. When I was trying to start it, it kept sounding weaker nd weaker so I just assumed it was the battery.
You're getting close! From all that's been said above, it sounds like (OMG!) the dreaded dead battery problem. I see you're not sure if the battery's charged. I'm going to suggest that your battery is dead. Before dismantling everything and losing all the tiny little bits and pieces, go for the obvious: charge the battery. The old gas is not a problem. The jets are OK. The high-end electronics are OK. I'm guessing that if you charge the battery (with a proper charger), it will be fine.
