NSR: Charlie Watts passes
« on: August 24, 2021, 10:56:16 PM »
Longtime drummer for the Rolling Stones has died.
Charlie was 80.

I was a folk music enthusiast in the 60's - but I couldn't help but tap my foot to some of the Stone's music on Radio Luxembourg while going to school in Paris.

Over the years I've gained an appreciation for both the Stone's and the Beatles which I didn't have as a youngster.

Would that those rascals could go on forever. But you can't always get what you want.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Sad news indeed Tom. A self-effacing man he was, nonetheless a phenomenal drummer. Up there with Keith Moon, Buddy Rich, John Bonham and Ginger Baker. That supergroup upstairs is just getting better and better. RIP Charlie

PS:  For the uninitiated (like me) a bit of research reveals NSR = Not Scooter Related!
