Hey Karl - valve stem out - good time for dynabeads now?!

Karl, I bought two bags of dynabeads months ago -  to use whenever I had the new Angels mounted.
But, talking with the service guys at time of tire change - they both said they had no idea what I was talking about.
So, I still have them.
So, while I have the stem out - wouldn't it be a good time to pour in the 2oz. recommended for my scooter?

BTW - probably going with a COLBY valve stem - which can be installed from outside the rim. A couple of off-road bike riders on the Vespa forum PM'd me to say they use them with good results....as a "permanent" fix to ripped off stems.
If I don't use the dynabeads I'll add a small wheel weight to the other side of the rim.

I replace stems without removing the wheel or tire. I squeeze the tire by the stem with a large C-clamp until the tire pops off the bead shoulder on one side, reach in and remove the stem base after cutting off the stem top flush with the rim.

I have yet to balance any of my scooter wheels and have not noticed any vibration, shimmies or weird wear as a result, despite riding at 70mph regularly. Have I just been lucky? Has anyone out there had problems with an unbalanced scooter wheel? 17" wheels on full size motorcycles definitely need balancing but scooter wheels, not in my experience.

Now is definitely the time! Be advised Dyna Beads will have a lot of black rubber dust when you replace the tire. That is not a worry! They won't eat through the casing before replacement is necessary.

As you know, I am using BB's but the next time think will use airsoft balls. Have seen pictures and videos of tire casings and rims that looked super clean with no rim peening of BB steel shot. Airsoft are quieter rolling around the garage and driveway! Not that any of these are real drawbacks.

Love the idea of those valves! That has to be THE idea of the 22nd century!
