Elegant?

No. But effective,
I ride out before sunrise - so I often ride home with a very low sun.
My helmet has a dark flip down - but that darkens everything - including the sharp shadows on a bright sunny day.
I prefer to ride into an early morning sun after applying a strip of painter's tape for a visor. (like putting your car's sun visor down)

I don't ride with a low afternoon sun. Too many cars being blinded. (Clooney was hit by a guy who said the sun blinded him. Didn't know he was there, until he "heard the thump" !)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Actually Stig, I have always wondered why the only helmets that I have seen wearing a peak is either open face helmets or full face helmets designed for adventure riders when they would be very handy.  You would get away will wearing one if you were riding the CB500X.

Yeah, when I started riding in the 60's I had a white  Bell with a white snap on visor....like the F1 drivers used. Helmets had snaps up there....for face shields, too. .   Cool as heck look!
