I have ridden both the Kymco like 125cc and the like  200i ( 163cc EFI ) motor scooters back to back

If your weigh is in the 70kg range youll be just fine on the 125cc, but if youre bigger, the 200i gives you what you need

I'm in the 70kg range but finding the air cooled 125 a bit annoying when first riding it cold.  Even though I give it a few minutes warm up it still stalls ever now and then and stutters a bit when first giving it some throttle.

Sorry to hear that Paul
Yes sounds like carb needs a small tweak.
If you can message the many LIKE 125 riders in that Philippines Like Club they surely could give you some tips. Friendly bunch of fellow knuckle-heads....having a group blast on their LIKEs.
Good luck....that's too fine a scooter to be off song even a little.
Is there a carb tune paragraph in the LIKE 125 service manual?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

i had the same issue... i took it to the kymco dealer. they adjusted and worked better but it wasnt perfect. still eventually stalled. took the carb out cleaned and re setted. i used a small digital tach to set the idle speed at 1800 and played with the mixture screw and its a year from that and the bike starts even better than my brand new fi scooter.

Thanks guys.    I actually changed my routine today.  I gave it a shorter warm up whilst idling and rode it at more revs when taking off down the street (instead of a slow low revving ride for a few hundred metres) and she was a lot better.  Thinking about it now, the more I was warming her up and slow riding at the beginning the more she was stuttering and stalling.

Yes, as my old mate Jeremy Clarkson used to say, sometimes you've just got to "Give it the beans!"
