Flat tire
« on: June 24, 2012, 06:40:16 PM »
I've gotten a flat tire on my 2007 people S200. The tire was pretty worn anyways, so I bought a replacement for it. I've called some local repair shops, but they wouldn't install the tire without having the wheel off the scooter. I assumed it was similar to the little Vespas and decided to try myself. So far, I've removed the exhaust and everything (bearing included) on the right side of the wheel, but the tire won't budge. Does anybody have any ideas on how to replace the tire?
Thanks

I got it to work a while ago. if anyone was looking for the same answer, just smack it with a rubber mallet until the rim pops off after taking the muffler, bearings, and such off.

I had the same problem on an Elite 80 a long time ago.

I thought I was being smart and changing it myself but could not get it off.

I took it to my local shop who charged me $100 to change it (because I didn't
buy the tire there).

After paying I asked how they got it off and they told me it was a secret.

I still don't know to this day... :'(
