Ive brought new rollers, cut the CDI and cut the variator. My ped now hits 49mph but no matter what hill it will not hit 50!

Im looking at more mods like, race clutches, race carbs, k&n air filters. Will this change anything? im 16 and all my mates have 2 stroke hairdryers (Airox's, speedfights, nrg's, sr50's) and i want to prove that a kymco can hit around 60mph. Im from the uk so i need uk sites...

any ideas how to get an extra 10mph?

What weight rollers?  By cut the variator, I assume you mean the variator boss?  What length was it cut to?

im not sure what size and yeah it was the boss, my dad cut it and its the same size as they all show on the youtube videos? i used one of them to do it. and i have 2 kymcos with the 80cc's but it doesnt seem to make a difference. I was thinking maybe K&N Filter? Bigger Main Jet? New race clutch and carb?

Any other recomendations?

If you're running an 80cc kit without a free flow air filter and a larger main jet you won't see much difference and are probably doing severe damage to your scooter.

Getting a performance variator is one of the biggest and most beneficial (as far as performance goes) mods you can do.

dont forget to have a nice set of tyres on, these scoots love the corners, i can flick through corners at 47-50ish...great fun :)
Courage is measured in how much tyre you use.

Yeah my peds just have redone their M.O.T's so they all have good tyres atm.

What do you suggest to run the 80cc bikes? air flter, main jet wise?

im going to look into getting a full race variator as ive seen them and they look like they could do alot :D

the parts i have fitted to mine at the minute are a Naraku Race Variator (with 1000rpm torque spring) and a Naraku Race Cdi. can hit around 47 to 50 on a good day and in england not many of em come about lol.

You really must have a bigger jet, if your saying you still have the stock #80 jet installed. For a derestricted scooter it should be #82, if you then fit a open air filter then usually its a  #88 or #90 jet.

A race variator is a must, imo, better acceleration, much smoother ride and few mph top end gained usually. I got 3-4mph and ijust use a cheapo chinese clone race variator from Taipai scooter assassins. Im also in the uk, so the only downside to taipai is the long delivery time.

Check your plug to see how you are running now, probably be a little lean. If you intend to go open filter just order a 88 jet at the same time and put that in rather than do the jet to 82 now.

Keep any eye on tyre pressures, soft tyres lose you speed and are dangerous.
Chaos is my co-pilot.
