Well, we did not perish under last Sunday's record snow and cold temperatures - but dang, we can't catch a break from the Anchorage-like temps! All week and into next week as well. Single digits, below 0 at night and early mornings, etc. Winds pushing it down to apparent, -22°F!
As I often experienced during my dawn scooter rides - the temp often drops again right @ sunrise.
Yesterday daughter and I went for breakfast in Y. S. to see how the village dealt with the snow and the cold.
It climbed from -6°F to 14°F with a nice wind while we were there! Windy! Wicked cold on the shaded side of the street!
No one eating alfresco in front of Current Cuisine!

Toasty in Dino's. Popped in for a med
shot-in-the-dark. Wicked strong!

I stopped and asked the city workers what they were up to - here in the middle of the road. "So d__m cold - the sewage line froze!"

Daughter, alarmingly!, saying she wishes she had the $750 for the painting next to our table.

...and wanting to stop and pet the cows. ("sorry honey - big truck coming up behind us")
