Daughter put 4 new Michelin
DEFENDER 2 on her xB the other day.
Like a
"City Grip 2".....this tire replaced her previous Defenders.
Yesterday she came out of night shift at the hospital and fortunately a passing maint. man pointed out her flat tire before she drove off on it.
The tire warning light was on - but she's not familiar with its meaning! It didn't look "round, like a tire". True enough. Now she knows.
He aired it for her and today I went back to the Toyota dealer and had it patched properly - tire off, patch and plug applied - tire rebalanced. Scion was a division of Toyota....now defunct in the US.
It seems the Michelins come with a 2 yr road hazard warranty, so there was no charge. Tech said if they can't make a safe repair - they will replace the tire - which would arrive after lunch with them! (our family has purchased 3 cars from them)
I remembered the sales lady mentioning road hazard warranty as I paid....but figured it meant hitting a rock or big pot-hole, or the like. Not a simple flat. Cool! Have never replaced a tire due to damage.
BTW: I was surprised to find that the OTD price for the set of Michelins
from the Toyota dealer matched or beat every price I could find....and they didn't come at me with a clip board and solemn announcement that they'd uncovered a hidden, serious fault.....
That was refreshing.

While waiting - I walked over and had a look at a Supra.

Look at the brakes on this rascal!

Price? not posted.
I refuse to get down on my knees and crawl into a car.
